Bridgette Mayer Gallery Welcomes A New Gallery Assistant

PHILADELPHIA (Oct. 19, 2020) – Bridgette Mayer Gallery is pleased to announce the appointment of new Gallery Assistant, Julia Carita.

Carita is a 2020 graduate from Bucknell University, where she majored in Art History and minored in French and Arts Entrepreneurship. During her time at Bucknell, she conducted research on World War I with the University’s History Department and worked at the Samek Art Museum, first as a Guide and later as Collections Assistant.

She has interned at the studio of artist Makoto Fujimura, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Barnes Foundation, and the Westminster City Archives in London. Julia wrote an encyclopedia entry on
Hilma af Klint for the Routledge Encyclopedia of Modernism, which is set to be published this year, and has contributed a chapter to an upcoming book on Bucknell students’ involvement in World War I.
In her free time, she loves taking photos and discovering new music.

In her role at Bridgette Mayer Gallery, Carita will bring her extensive operational, research, and administrative experience to immediately support Owner and Director, Bridgette Mayer and Project Manager, Courtney Clark. Carita will manage marketing on social media platforms, update Gallery databases and documents, update artwork inventory, and maintain the Gallery website.
Bridgette Mayer recently shared: “I am pleased to have a wonderful new addition join my gallery team and business and looking forward to continued growth this year and in 2021.”

“We’re thrilled to have Julia join the team” says Courtney Clark, Project Manager. “She’s proactive and extremely personable, with her past experience at different museums and galleries, she’s going to become a great asset to the Bridgette Mayer Gallery.”
