Sharon Harper gives artist talk at the Penumbra Foundation

SHARON HARPER's work explores technology and perception in relation to the natural world. She is the recipient of a John S. Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship in Photography and has been awarded residencies at the Headlands Center for the Arts, the MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, Ucross Foundation, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, the Vermont Studio Center and the Monastery of Halsn√ły, Norway. Her work is in permanent collections at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Whitney Museum of American Art, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, The Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, the Harvard Art Museums, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art in Santa Barbara, California, the Nelson-Atkins Museum in Kansas City, Missouri, and The New York Public Library among other collections. She received an MFA in photography and related media from the School of Visual Art in New York. She is currently Professor of Visual Art, Visual and Environmental Studies at Harvard University.
