Gallery Artist Kaoru Mansour was interviewed about art and life by VoyageLA.
"I grew up in a small village in Japan. I went to a medical lab training college because I had a good math grade, but I enjoyed drawing cells through a microscope the most. I dropped out of college and started working at a graphic office in Kobe Japan. During that time I was singing with a band as a hobby. The band won a music competition and I got a record deal after my contract with the record company was over. I moved to LA. I took night classes at the Otis College of Art and Design, and I was working at an office during the day. Then when my son was born, I became a freelance artist..."

Kaoru Mansour, a native of Japan, is an artist based in Los Angeles, California. Her artwork has varied over the last ten years, ranging from geometric shapes on paper to her more recent botanical collage elements on wooden panels. Mansour’s current body of work connects images of plants with abstract mark making.

Philadelphia, PA – April 21, 2021. Bridgette Mayer Gallery is thrilled to announce that in its twenty-first year as a leader in the Philadelphia arts community, it will re-open its doors to the public on June 1, 2021. The gallery will be returning to its home on the 1st floor of 709 Walnut Street in Washington Square, where it existed as a public gallery from 2001 to 2016, before moving to the penthouse level of the building and becoming a private, appointment-only space. Founder and Owner Bridgette Mayer has made the exciting decision to re-open the gallery as a way to foster art and joy in Philadelphia in response to the difficulties facing the city due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Philadelphia, PA – March 1, 2022. Bridgette Mayer Gallery is pleased to announce its second solo exhibition with gallery artist Kaoru Mansour. Sweet Nature will be on view from Tuesday, March 29 to Saturday, April 30, 2022, with extended hours on Friday, April 1 from 5:00 to 7:30pm. The exhibition will feature 27 new paintings by Mansour, inspired by the plants and flowers kept by her family at her childhood home.
